I haven't seen much of Matt on here since FL. What all did you people do to him in Hobe Sound?

He misses Moose, maybe? I don't know. Got some bad Denny's the last night he was here? He's out searching for a hearse to buy after driving The-Dullahan's?

    Many, many things.

Matt ,your project is going well .I know with the toronado 425 going into my caddy (to replace the 307) I am using the 307 mounts .4100 I don`t think ? will match.
Is that a professional products dampener you have installed ?? Rough cost ??I think that a new one of these is damned cheap insurance

Re: 1984 Coupe DeVille Engine Swap!

Sorry I have been such a ghost on this site lately. I've been really busy with work and setting up for college classes. I have this Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off, so I will be making progress. My friend's dad (the welder) came over to look at my engine mount situation, and we think we have it figured out. I'll post more when progress is made. Thanks for all the support and help so far guys! Keep bumping this thread, it will keep me focused.

Re: 1984 Coupe DeVille Engine Swap!

    I HAVE ACTUAL UPDATES!!!
I got to spend a good 4 hours out with the car today.

You might remember that my engine had a hard lean to one side. This was because the engine is too wide for the mounts. I got busy leveling my engine so I could make mount templates for my fabricator friend.

This engine hoist has been so useful. I hooked my AC bracket and gave the engine a yank.

Check it out! No more sideways!

I had some help with my car today...

I also put my trans mount and factory shims back in so the engine and trans would sit where they should. I was actually able to pump the jack under the car because the handle fit in the driveshaft tunnel.

There is the trans mount and the shims all bolted back in.

I also hooked the gear-shift to the trans. It's so nice to have the handle do something again.

I got both of the templates in place just as it was getting dark. I just need to do some trimming to them and then remove the mounts. I didn't want to fiddle with the engine hoist in the dark so I'll take the mounts off tomorrow.

It's REALLY nice working on the car again. KEEP BUMPING THIS THREAD!!! It'll keep me focused. More updates tomorrow!
