I love the photo of the roof crest. It really shows the depth of the color/metallic of the paint. Beautiful color.

The triple blue really make it outstanding. I don't remember how I voted, but white would have been a terrible mistake. I think it would have made the car seem smaller. The way it came out is amazing.

Gary nailed it, Elegant Classic Cadillac!

Tablets make strange cameras. Most take pretty good pictures though.

    Just an observation.

Thanks, guys! It's been a LONG time coming, and I shudder to think of the expense involved (note to self: no more restorations EVAR). Now I can focus on finessing the details and making a complete car of her again (still missing parts ). I will admit to some trepidation that a certain Irishman in exile in FL would object to the absence of the approved Cadillac color.

In the end, she has become again what she once was: the elegant, imposing capstone of Cadillac's owner-driven automobile line. Eloise would have been proud.

On my vacation I visited several auto museums. While looking at all the gorgeous cars on display it occurred to me that behind all of those cars, way back in their ownership were guys just like all of us. People who saw and loved them when they were just discards of the auto population in general. People who preserve and restored them not for personal profit, but out of love. I am sure they never realized that their projects would one day be sitting in a museum being loved and enjoyed by generations yet unborn.

You have contributed to the automotive culture of the world.

For every one in a museum there are hundreds that didn't make it, but they were no less important to the history. The extra years their owners bought them were spent being driven and enjoyed by them and the public. They raised awareness and appreciation of their brands and models adding desire and value to them. It is on the backs of these thousands of driver quality cars that they were elevated to museum worthy status.

Our cars may never last to make it in a museum, some of them just may. Either way be proud that you have selflessly spent your money and time to further the love and appreciation of Cadillac.

    Re: White...or Blue?

Thank you for these wonderful pics I have enjoyed pornographically. The car looks now light years better than before restoration. That original paint, vinyl roof and upholstery rise considerably the score. Now the car is ready to enjoy, you will soon forget the money you spent on it, as you have now a perfect unit; only one preserved in a time capsule could surpass it. In these pics I can appreciate the greenish highlights of the paint. It seems that weatherstrips were changed too?.

Personally I could not afford that in-depth restoration (neither regarding to money neither mental health) but I have to recognize itīs the only way to do things as they should be. When you want to do things right, you get a happy end -no matter how many problems you find on your way-. Now I wish you enjoying your wonderful car all weeks, making miles and miles of pleasant driving. My most sincere congratulations for the results of the restoration

Wow. She's a beaute. The paint, vinyl and interior are phenom. With Suspicious Minds on the radio, cruising at 70 mph, gas was .35 a gallon. Namath was on the Jets, undefeated OSU lost to Michigan, The Cubs folded to the Mets, and Niel Armstrong took A Big Step for Mankind.
