Well, the 1990 Brougham is mine. Final price..... $350.00. For the money, not a bad car. 220,000 miles. Some rust scabs on the body. Back bumper was damaged in accident, which as a result it is bent. Doesn't matter, because about foot and half of the center of the bumper is rusted out. Interior is a 220,000 mile interior. Some rips, tears and used marks. Everything work on the car, which is rather nice.
Did notice that a little puff of smoke when starting....little ticking while cold, but disappears.
Will be a great winter car for me. Now I can keep the 1990 Brougham D'Elegance nice..!!!!!!
Almost had it sold today though... I will try to get some pictures of it before I at least wash it up, then some of it cleaned...
As far as is goes. It is road worthy now. Drove it an hour home without any issues. I do know that there is ever so slight exhaust leak behind the muffler. Otherwise, I might give it a tuneup, clean it up and go from there. Keep an eye one everything and see what happens.
It is what I call charcoal in color with matching top and leather interior. It is not the D'Elegance package, but does have the TBI 350 engine. Seems to have mostly the standard Brougham option for 90. Dual power seats with dual power recliners. Modern stereo CD player in dash. Cruise, air, heat, all work. Antenna doesn't as usual. Instrument panel was replaced, as I know from experience they sometimes have issues. Almost new tires.
Body has some rust, and as mentioned before, the rear bumper is not nice at all. Was pushed in some in accident and is partially rusted away. The interior has some rips. They previous owner had wiper/washer issue, so they added toggle switches under the dash for them. Not the happiest with it, but they at least work. I assume the switch went bad and instead of replacing it, which I have done before, they went the easy route.
I plan to clean it up, and give it a tune up and see what happens. For what I want it for, it should be perfect. Just a winter, work car to keep the 90 Brougham D'Elegance rust free, and I never plan to drive the 65 Fleetwood in the winters. I am sure I could turn a profit on to someone, if I want to. I guess money always talks...!!!!!
I have a picture of all the cars together, hope to get some of the car soon and post for all to see.....
Here is a picture of the car. The new one is the charcoal colored one on the left. Next is the 1990 Brougham D'Elegance with 44,xxx miles and to the far right is my Starlight Silver 1965 Fleetwood 60 Special with just over 93,xxx and 90% original. Hope this pic keeps you guys happen for a little while....til I get some more
Yeah not white walls....I hate that, but oh well. I did not purchase the tires and for the price I got it for, I will not complain. I just went out with the digital and am uploading pictures as we speak.
Nope, that is just how I purchased the car yesterday. Have not done a thing with it yet. I do not like the bumper either. Going to try to do something to make it look presentable at least.
$350 is pretty darn sweet for a good running car with working heat, a/c, and cd player. If you fixed that rear bumper and put the piece of trim back on that rear quarter to hide the rust, it would look pretty darn respectable.
