As you can see, this has the Chevy 350 Tow Package. Only 137,000 miles! And as you can see, it needs a little bit of body work. I'm going to use this as a daily summer driver once I fix the head gaskets. Should be up and running in a week or so, I have a friend coming over next week to help fix the gaskets. I also get a free valve job on the heads from the engine class at the college I go to. I don't think it's a bad deal, not for $150. Man I love Craigslist! Also, anybody know how to open the hood besides the Hood Release pull in the car? I think the cable is stretched. Can I just unbolt the grill, and then unbolt the hood latch, or is there an easier way? Thanks!
Looks like a good candidate for a slow restoration. Love the color, too. My only question is how do people let cars like this fall into such disrepair? Good luck with your plans for it.

Speaking of the color, does anybody know the official name of this particular color? The disrepair part is easy. Not to point fingers, but the guy I bought it from was an idiot. He knew the head-gaskets were out and continued to drive it with them blown. Also, it took three of us to open the hood the day I bought it to jump start it. Before we got it open, the guy pulled the latch and then walked to the front of the car. He then took the ignition key and TRIED TO PRY THE HOOD OPEN! The key snapped in half, and he blamed to key for "not being strong enough." Luckily the hardware store was able to piece it back together enough to make a copy. I just stared on in awe of the stupidity...
OMG, some people should not be allowed to own cars. Wait, edit that, some people should just plain not be allowed. I think the color is called Garnet Red Metallic.
The color is #79 - Maple Red. Look in the FAQ in the sticky section at the top of our postings under colors - - scroll down to about page 2 or so and you should be able to see the actual color. It is for sure Maple Red. That color was featured in the 1990 sales brochure. Very cool car for the $$$ - - I love it!
After I get that dent popped, I would like to find another trim piece to put over it. My question is: do the 80's Broughams have that same color trim along the bottom? Would that piece work from an 80's car? Or did they change it for the 90-92's? Tomorrow I'm going to get to work cleaning it out. I'll give it a quick wash as well. I still can't believe that full-length top. Not a crack or a rip to be found. Thanks for all the input guys. I think I may make this the project thread for the car.

matt, the plastic trim on the bottom is exclusive to the 1990-92 Brougham.
That looks like a beat-to-sh*t version of my car. I don't think it's Maple Red...it's a little too purple for it.
It'll be sweet once you've fixed it up! I love mine. I bought mine from a total mafia style body shop. They bought it from some little old Italian widow after the back quarter panel got smacked. Her husband bought it new, and let me tell you, when I picked it up the interior was like brand new aside from one rub on the driver's seat where the back of this guy's collar had rubbed over the years. They had cut carpet remnants to fit as floor mats to protect the original carpet. I opened the glove compartment and mass cards fell out along with a portrait of the Virgin Mary. The only things that don't work on my car are the power antenna and the back fibre optic turn signal indicator, but that's because they didn't hook it back up after repairing the quarter panel and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
I have one of the panels you need(your missing two) and the clips. I may have the small one but I'll have to check. You might as well take all the smog stuff off when you do the heads, it gives you more room to do plugs and valve covers in the future. Come to think of it, I have the head gasket set you need because they gave me the wrong one and I lost the receipt, Felpro unopened. I paid 37 at oreilly, maybe we can trade for that badge you have on the grill. You still have my number?

The car is maple red #79. There was only one other red color available on the 1990 Brougham which was Autumn Maple Firemist, color #89, and that color is a vibrant candy apple red.
