But untill I get those pics up, does anybody know how to fix the opera lamp in between the doors? I have heard they are made of electro-luminecent paper. Any way to fix these? My passenger side light works, but only half the driver's side does. Thanks! More Pics Tomorrow! |

This is about where I was with the engine before the rain delay. I have it down to the intake except for the distributor. The hold-down bolt does NOT want to move. I hosed everything in PB Blaster before I left for the night. The throttle body isn't connected, just sitting there.
And (drumroll please)... I got hubcaps for it! There was a guy in my brakes class that had an 80's RWD and kept the caps when he sold it. They are the stud/bolt kind like what was on my car, but with different center caps. I have to clean them up.
Lastly, I replaced all of my broken/chewed up door lock pulls with my nice shiney ones. While doing this, I opened the glove box and found my missing d'Elegance fender script! How should I go about re-attaching this? Will super glue work, or is there a more sophisticated way of doing this? Thanks.
It's supposed to be warmer next week, so I will get the heads off then. Sorry for the book, but there were a lot of little updates. |

Just clean off all of the factory adhesive (the black crap on the back) and make sure the body surface is clean. The directions on the glue say to get 3M wax remover, but that removes the paint, so just use rubbing alcohol.
**And before anyone says "But these emblems are metal," I took a chrome centerline off the hood of a de Ville RWD, hacked off all the stud/bolts and glued it to my hood with plastic emblem adhesive, and it hasn't come off.
And if you want to breath a little more life into those hubcap emblems, use a fine tipped magic marker to color in the gray spots and they will look new for a few months. Pilot makes a fine tipped, gold paint marker.

I'll pick up some of that adhesive this week. It's supposed to be in the 60's this week, so I should make good progress on the car then! Woo, no more clouds! | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
