Price check...and introduction :)

Hello All, I've been lurking around here for some time now. I am the proud owner of a 1980 Sedan Deville D'Elegance and spend a lot of time on these boards trying to figure out what to do with her. But...that's not why I'm here today.

I found a '77 Coupe Deville on my local CL for $1495 and need a price check. Here are the shots:

Now, the color isn't all that appealing (and it desperately needs some good whitewalls) but it appears to be in good shape and has sun roof! Perhaps it's just my love of old caddy's but I would figure that vehicle is worth way more than $1500 to the right person. Am I right on this or is my nostalgia overcoming my sense of value?

I'm going to try to get close enough to take some hi res shots and upload them here when I get a chance. If this car is absolutely cherry what would a reasonable value be?

I see a few things that concern me about the engine shot. First the master cylinder and brake booster are rusted to hell. Secondly (and this may be because of the poor quality of the photo but...) the engine looks messy. Not dirty, but there are a lot of hoses and wires everywhere, which could mean vacuum and electrical issues because the routings are messed up. Get a better picture of the engine.

I personally would jump at the opportunity if the car ran and drove "good enough." But I'm under the mentality that if it runs, it can be fixed.

Well, I don't know the prices for cars like this in the US.
But over here you wouldn't even get a POS for that money...
Car doesn't look bad. So, if I were in your place, I'd consider buying it. And yes, I think I'd buy it, if it runs nice.

Well, I took a closer look today and unfortunately that vehicle wasn't under priced, I believe it was over priced. The sun roof was aftermarket (bleh), it was rusting is all of the wrong places and the interior was a mess.

I guess you can't save them all.
