Thanks guys! Off to the upholstery shop on Monday for a new lid!Everyone was out of stock on the actual Dark Maple vinyl, but the one I picked is so close that it would fool most purists, imo. Can't wait too see it finished.Belt molding "rope" strip and trim moldings painted to match top color.Shiny crests ready to go.Took some before pics last weekend.I will post them next to the finished job.

I must say replacing all those faded crests on my 91 Brougham made it look like a totally different car. Even though I had buffed the paint up to a ridiculous gloss, those "pink crests" just really made the car look shabby.

Wow, that new top looks great! Mine is fading really bad now, and it looks like yours before you got the new top. How much did it cost to have it put on? If you don't mind me asking.

$750.00, top included. He also reattached all the moldings that i had gotten painted and cleaned the car after!I thought it was an excellent deal after looking at the "vinyl" section of the shop manual and seeing just how involved the job really is.

What type of glue did you use to glue the crest back on? Mine came off and I need to re-glue it.

My paint guy had some double-sided rubberized tape made by 3M. It seems like a good strong bond, and not nearly as messy as contact cement.Google 3M automotive attachment tape.

That's the best stuff to use. You could just about hang the car from the celling with it.
