Re: '87-'92 Cadillac Brougham first car

A Fleetwood Brougham is an EXCELLENT choice for you. I know I'd like my son to be driving one when he comes of age vs a little ricer. A '91-'92 is preferable as I like the Chevy powertrains and styling better but an Olds 307 is OK too. I look forward to the day I own one again (gas prices would have to come way down, heh). Good luck on your search, these cars have unlimited potential in so many different ways, lots of fun!.

The Brougham is the car that brought me into the Cadillac world. It's just quite ironic that I never bought one.

The Broughams are the Cadillaciest of the Cadillacs, I think. I'm so excited that an old classic Caddy's going to be my first car.

Great find, and I love the saffron color ext. with the claret florentine cloth int. Very elegant. Hope you get it! The 77s are great cars, and the EFI is pretty good on gas, too (~16mpg aver. for non-CA cars; should do up to about 18mpg on the hwy.)

Im 17 too. And im looking at a 1989 Brougham. Its got 53,000 miles and seems like my dream car. But im concerned that there might be something wrong with it because of the price.

Should have started a new thread but...what is the price? A low mileage cadillac (if its been sitting and mechanically neglected) isn't worth a whole lot because the cost of repairs to get it mechanically perfect (over a few years time) will cost about the same as buying a nice one thats mechanically perfect.
Also, do you have any pictures of said car?

Re: '87-'92 Cadillac Brougham first car

Well people im an Australian here
I did purchase my dream car finally and that number one was indeed a
1991 Cadillac Brougham D'Elegance Sedan 5.7L V8..... i must say ive had her 2 years now and i absolutely love it to bits what i also love is mine actuley features real wood veneer i had it authenticated and its 100% real wood

It must have been rare or something. But its factory wood, never been redone at all.... when i purchased mine it had 5700 original miles on it..
I got carfax, etc and there genuine.. it also passes CA emissions regulations afterall its a californian car

I get about 20mpg city & 34mpg highway (approx.) but thats on premium unleaded gasoline

Overall i love my cadillacs i own

I would advise the 350ci more so over the 307/305 due to the fact its got more power and torque and because of that the motor doesnt have to work as hard so the easyier they can work the better the gas mileage

The RWD caddys never had real wood. If it is real wood, it has been redone.
And carfax, etc. Mean nothing. It only works if anything is (voluntarily) reported to it.

I know .... the whole woodgrain parts have been re-done with a factory look wood.... so you cant tell the difference between it

I know my caddy has been well looked after because its flawless all round... i purchased it off the original owner who got it back in 91
