Anyone know where the best place is to get an exhaust system for a 76 Fleetwood? I need the central pipe - 2 3/4 inches dia - from the end of the downpipes to the box. I guess I could do wiht the downpipes (from the manifolds to the cental pipe) too.
I've looked in the USA Parts Supply catalogue and they only seem to go up to 1970 and on the 'net but to no avail.
I was thinking of putting in a custom made dual 2 1/2 system but does anyone know would it make more power and torque over the existing system?
I'm ot sure it would
thanks, Nick |

Just add some pipe to make it work. Worse come to worse, an 88, LeSebre or Bonneville (even shorter...)
You'll still need a shop to do some custom work, but that would get most of it for you. |

But where would you recommend I would buy an exhaust system form to ship back to ireland - which supplier?
And would the effort of going to a dual system be worthwhile for this car - could it fit underneath easily or are there bits of chassis in the way? it looked OK to me when I looked undere last week.

But all depends, is originality important or functionality? duals, engine back would really wake things up, and if you can get an X-pipe or H-pipe in there that will help boost low end torque and help mpg.
You can try rockauto.com and see, they deal primarily by mail.
No custom shops there that could do it for you? That would be cheaper and get a muffler or 2 delivered (Walker Dynomax 17749's are a great quiet choice that flows REAL well and only $50). We can get stainless pipe here delivered to you, that shouldn't be too hard to do. Maybe that is the way to go, get good pipe that will last a LONG time, get some stainless mufflers (Walker makes some really good ones too, so does Magnaflow, stainless will last nearly forever).
Go to SummitRacing.com and see how much stainless is and see if you can order it and have them ship it. If you really run into a bind, maybe we can work something out, but I have to dig around on shipping internationally, I know someone from Ireland I can ask here. |

Thanks - there are veyr few custom exhaust shops here whol could bend a system up. The country isn't really geared for it - people mainly just put on standard exhausts.
I have a couple of Summit H pipes that came across in the trunk of a '73 Deville I bought so I'm OK with that and yes I guess getting some Walker 17749's would be a good move.
I'm sure I can get stainless tube here but it is bending it up and TIG welding it that is the issue.
I'll look at rockauto
By the way, and most interestingly, who do you know in Ireland and where are they?

Got a strange one to try, go to Autozone.com, look up the one in McHenry, IL. Ask for the guy with the Fleetwood Limo. He works mornings and has a stable of Fleetwoods and works at a parts store, he works mornings here, I see the white Fleetwood 75 daily..... Maybe he can work something out with you, if he can get something and won't ship, maybe I can help with the shipping if it doesn't take too much time (I live near a airport UPS hub in Rockford, IL). I would have to talk to them about what they need it packed like. Maybe if you can talk him into it, he can find a shop to bend a custom exhaust for his 75 (longer I know), and then ship that....
You can look at a 74 Cadillac, they were duals I think. |

Many thanks - much appreicated I'll look him up.
That's also given me a thought - I need a new power steering pump for my 93 Fleetwood brougham with the LO5 engine, but I need it with the serpentine belt pulley fitted. - I had a new pulley put on the original pump and the gorilla'd it on with a bolt and heat torch and screwed the seal - and now don't want to know about it!
Maybe he has the pump and the pulley and can get the pulley mounted on the pump so that the seal won't get damaged.
I'll talk to him about that also. I'll also see if I can find a '74 here to see if it has duals - I know my '73 deville has a single system.
Someone locally has mailed me saying he knows of a custom bending shop near here which is brilliant. So maybe I just need the mufflers.
regards & thanks, Nick |

My T/A has a 70 400 in it and a 70 pump is very easy to swap the pulley on, maybe 2 min worth of work. Quote:
