Warm Starting Problem

So I fixed my cold starting problem by resetting the choke adjustment and finding a nice spot where it cold starts with ease. My issue now is if the car sits for a few hours or more it needs to be reset with the gas pedal before it will even consider restarting. Where do I go from here?

A carburated car requires partial depressing of the gas pedal while cranking warm unlike a fuel injected car that requires no gas pedal action. Unless you activate the accelerator pump in the carb, theres no fuel present to ignite. In a carb'ed car the throttle supplys fuel and air, in a fuel injected car the pedal only supplies air.

Try not to get offended at my pedantry but a little known detail about cars with EFI: the gas pedal DOES effect fueling, but only to the extent programmed into the calibration. More throttle gives more cranking fuel and foot to the floor gives no fuel or very little. This is called clear flood mode and works the same as a carb, except on a carb, the flood clears because when the throttle blades are wide open there's no venturi effect to pull the fuel out of the jets.
