Needless to say. Whew. 12,000lbs, motorhome chassis, Roush 454, etc., etc.
Look at the engine compartment--probably just enough, oddly, to move such a heavy beast around. Wonder where it went...

I didn't think you could own own of those. I've heard that a lot of the features of those cars are top secret. Some special features were stripped? |

I watched most of this years auction and they kept showing shots of this car but I never got to actually see it on the block. I would have bought her in a heart beat! Who needs a house?
I'd love to take her for a spin, or just ride in back!
I wonder what kind of tires are on her? |

But this one was a "spare" essentially, and the ones like it were retired 2 model lines ago, so now it's technically a show piece--like a lot of the older, older ones that are sitting in museums.
Very cool car, either way. REALLY interesting to see how that 454 looks in the engine bay, and also how they changed little things like the grab handles on the interior door panels--I noticed that, and no question why. The spring loaded plastic stock car handles would snap in half the first try attempting to pull one of those VERY heavy doors closed.
It weights so much, at 12,000 pounds, even with that 625 horse (at least if I heard it right...) 454, I really wonder what it drives like. One thing for sure, "solid" wouldn't even explain half of it
For $250,000...someone got a great deal. What they'll do with it, I don't know, but a once in a lifetime piece nonetheless. |

That is the L21 or L29 454 intake on it. So most likely a 96 L29 454. The intake is a pretty decent piece, the stock cam is lame, but the heads flow pretty good. This engine is EASY to get good hp out of, should be easy to get 400-450 hp and 500-550 lb/ft torque out of it and be able to have usable power up to 6000 rpm with no real problems.... |

Greg | VERY bad...and VERY large. Even worse because these cars are rarely driven at much more than single digit speeds, except for the occasional airport, etc. jaunt.
Or, just try and find a motorhome of similar weight with the 454...that might give a good idea. |

I would expect it to be similar.....IF you could get up to highway speeds.... These cars were needed to have good performance in care of emergency to save the pres life. Wonder what the specs were for it? |

I've seen caps just like them on a random few '90-92 cars, I think, but not sure if they were exact matches. Could be. Probably in the same sense there's quite a few regular limo '93s with the older Brougham wire caps on them. |

There was a lot of radio traffic and the limo never stopped, obviously, thinking it might be an assassination attempt, and the next intersection was the on-ramp to the highway leading to the airport.
I heard later that the kid sold that wrecked Buick for big bucks to some collector for it's silliness value. That is, after he did his thing with John Law. |
