very nice and interesting, too. Didnīt knew that a 69 is such a strong runner.
472 cubic inches must be around 7,5 Liters, i guess. about 300 HP ? Car weighs 2,5 tons?
7.7L.... I think they were in the low 300's for HP, and 525ish lb/ft torque....
Right, 7.7 L.
Rated at 375 (gross) hp @ 4400 rpm and 525 lbs/ft (gross) torque @ 3000 rpm. But mine has dual exhaust, so it's probably making more like 390 (gross) hp. And mine has a shift kit.
Mine weighs 5,060 lbs.
Here is a 0-60 mph video I did today. I wanted to do one with no wheelspin, but it happened anyway. It's hard to keep 525 lbs/ft of torque from not spinning the wheels!
Yes, thank you. It looks like it comes out to about eight and a half seconds.
Yeah, I would say around 8.5 seconds. The wheelspin cost a few tenths.
I think next I will do a full throttle from a standing start, wihout trying to contorl wheelspin. That should sound good on video.
That will probably be next week because I drive this car only once or twice a week.
I remember reading a comparison article between the '71 Eldorado and '71 Mark III Continental, and they had said that the cars were rather sluggish off the line, but at speed, the acceleration "was akin to a swift kick from a mule". Would you say that's how your '69 feels?

No, my '69 is certainly not sluggish off the line. It can easily lose traction and burn rubber for dozens of feet. It can out jump many other cars off the line.
A stock '69 DeVille can reach 30 mph from a standing start in 3.5 seconds, which is a good number for a 5,000 lb car with 2.94:1 gears.
There is no doubt, however, that my car and a '71 Eldo and Mark III have better accelertion once rolling. For instance, their passing times, like 40-60 and 50-70 mph, are more impressive than their 0-60 mph times.
