You can't chop that car up...It's a 5.7, d'elegance with no rust or body damage. If you want a parts car....Sell that one on eBay (You'll probably get $3000 minimum) than take that money and spend half of the proceeds buying a clapped out parts car and 350 drivetrain (also on Ebay).
^^ I like that idea, but whatever you do, don't just take the fenders off and call it a day. You have to do the full crossover including all the interior like burlwood trim 2-din dash and cluster.
you guys are gonna make me keep it how it is, i know is a clean car but ive always wanted a 90d 2 dr fleet and there aint no beat up 90s around here, so my only parts car would have to be this one

^^ Basically. ....and those shots are all of one car.
Conversions can never be perfect though. A major concern is the door armrest; In '90 they curved down to accommodate the seatbelt housing, but the two door versions never had that, so it may not be as flush-looking from underneath. Also, notice the stainless trim on the bottom of the armrest stops at the housing, so that would have to be dealt with. Also, auto-dimming mirrors were not a function in the coupe rwd days, so the wiring to the transmission and such will not be there; but that shouldn't be a problem is EVERYTHING goes over. Seats too; if you transfer sedan seats, which you would want to do to keep the same style, you're gonna have to make them fold. So I suggest you just unzip the leathers and put them over the coupe frames. If you notice on the door, the puller does not line up with the switches like on the sedan. It didn't have the middle piece on the coupe, but if that doesn't bother you then whatev.. Also I'm not sure if you can re-hookup a digital instrument cluster and expect it to work, what with anti-hack securities, but I've seen some folks pull it off. Remember there's no cable, but rather a unit on the tranny that sends an electrical signal via wire to the dash.
On the outside the lower trim will have to be merged into a larger piece to accommodate a larger door. studs will also have to be fashioned to the door to hold them on.
Lastly don't forget to switch out the door lock pullers, rear sail reading lights, and the overhead lights. (in the 80's there were separate buttons, but in the 90's the light WAS the button)
alot of good info man thanks, the only problem i think i might have with the whole conv. is gonna be trying to wire the dash

Everyone is always against me, but doing a 90s conversion to an 80s coupe seems like such a step backwards to me. I was always a fan of the 80s styling over the 90s, especially that "euro" headlight deal. I prefer the two sealed beams with the wide parking light underneath, and that cool Cadillac crest with the wings on it. Very stylish.
You can do what you want, obviously, but it seems like a lot of work to ruin a classic. (just kidding)
Maybe in some respects, Giovanni, but everyone has their own tastes. I personally do not like the red/white taillights. I would keep the solid red ones.
Sometimes I get the feeling that people will completely transfer EVERYTHING over just to be able to say they have every detail of one model on the body of another. I would look at both the 90s style and the 80s style scrupulously and pick out the things you like most from either.
EDIT: also don't forget to transfer the deck lid, as the new ones only had chrome in the receded part unlike the 80s ones that had chrome along the perimiter.
..........there I go again; but you choose which one you like better. (I can't really decide; It's my instinct to say "Go all the way")
