There's some good looking 72 Caddy's near me, sorta, that are for sale.

I know some think the 70's Caddy's look a little bland, but for me the 72 Caddys I like... truly looks like a boat to me, with the back quarter panels the shape that they were, low and wide and I liked the turning signal situated between the headlights like that - I can't explain why, haha, I just do - and not the later models when the turning signals got bigger, but when they were small like the 72 - and the round, square framed headlights. Heh.

I had a chance to buy a 72 or 73 Coupe Deville for my first car instead of getting my grandma's 1978 Lincoln Town Car, but it (the Caddy) had some body issues.

I think one reason I like 72 year is I liked the 80's movie "License to Drive" and the main character's "interesting" night with his grandfather's 72 Caddy... although it'll make you cry seeing what they put the Caddy through... that poor, poor Caddy what did it ever do to them?! :P ... on a side note they had an error in the summary of the movie on the back... it said it was a 74 Caddy... but it is clearly a 72 and I loved the paint job on it too! It looked like a light blue, but it certain lights (and night) it had a hint of green... wonder if that would look good on my Caddy *shrugs* ... what is it like a pearlessence paint job... or whatever it's called.

And that Fleetwood has a very nice grille and hood ornament - all that chrome! ... okay, wow, sorry for my blabbing - I'm talkative this morning.

Looks like a 1964, not a 65 as advertised. If I had the money, I'd be quite tempted to buy that poor car and put it back to its orginal Johnny Cash standard. Black, black, and more black like it came from the factory.

What's the difference between 64 and 65? There was a reply to that post in the section that said the same thing.

The standard line of Cadillac for 64 and 65 was quite different, but when it came to the 75 series, Cadillac did not always update body changes everytime the main lineup was altered. 65 Fleetwood 75 Series did look just a 64 model practially inside and out. 66 the Fleetwood Series 75 was updated and did look exactly like a 66 Cadillac and I believe after that, the body changes were carried through the entire Cadillac line.

Found this 72 Sedan de Ville sitting in a parking lot.

It's in the Akron/Canton area. Window says $3000. (330)309-0694.

Car has historical plates and 49,600 on the clock. The interior looked really good; blue fabric seats. Paint could use a touch up, and I don't think the blue is original (some of the paint was chipped away and there was a dull yellow underneath). It had cruise control, power mirror, climate control, and a radio. It is missing the fender skirts (both sides I think). I don't remember seeing body rot.

Sven, ooo I like that Caddy! Err both... though I know the one on the left is yours, but I've always liked 72 Caddy since I saw "License to Drive" and that's a similar color it was too! That poor Caddy in the movie...

Wow. This is a beauty. Perfect year and options for me... 1996 FB with chrome wheels, moonroof, cd player... Not a bad price for it I don't think. Wish I did not have my loan. I'd be making a trip home for a visit and just happen to swing by this one.
