nice 88 brougham. he reposts it like 3 times a week. i called before i bought mine and offered 1300 and he said come get it. He claims there is only 40k miles. I could of sworn it had the fifth wheel on the trunk a while ago. hes been posting for about 5 months anywhere from 1500 to 5000 for this car.

Now when i sell cars/ buy cars, i thought the general rule of thumb or unwritten law in car sales is,

When you make a offer, and the owner accepts, its yours, you buy it. Not hey, will yah take 1300 for it? He accepts, then your like, oh, well let me think about it. Think about it before you offer. I was always on the bases of, if you make a offer, and i accept. ITs a done deal.

Secondly, how can you make a offer over the phone? I can understand if you saw it already, and you had to think about it. then called him back to offer. But you sound like you did what alot of people do... Call and make a offer, and you didnt even look at the car.

IDK, thats just how i thought it goes. You offer, he accepts, SOLD. And how can you say, yah ill give u X amount of dollars, and not even see it? What if its a heap? If you go with my 1st argument, you would already have agreed to buy it.

Just reposting this '79 H&E LeCab. Pictures make the car look pretty crappy which might scare off some bidders, so it might not be that difficult to get the car at a reasonable price.

1990caddybrougham, It was the car i was gonna buy but 20 minutes later I saw the one I bought for 800 less. besides the car is far from me so if I went out there, I was coming back with the car. But he wasnt as sensitive as SOME people and understood that I didnt want to buy his when there was a better value. If I knew somebody was gonna set rules on how to by cars then I would have explained the whole story the first time. But dont get me wrong, I see where you are coming from but there was more to the story.

A friend of mine found a wrecked 94 FWB, triple black with Astroroof and no padded roof. 190K miles.

Need hood, left fender, left door, windshield, some suspension work, left front wheel. Ideas on parts cost?

We are planning on buying, either to part or to fix and sell mine.

Not always. If you remember my '90 Brougham with the 307, I sold it over the phone for 2500 cash. I had 3 exterior camera phone shots on craigslist and no interior shots. My ad said "more pictures to come" but a guy called me up and asked "will you take 2500 for her?" and I accepted before I ever got the shots up. What could I do? I was a little caught off guard, but money's money and that's how he worked.

Then he came out and just gave me the cash. No test drive, no cranking, not even a peek under the hood. He just drove off. It could've had a blown head gasket and he wouldn't have asked...hehe The guy was like a zombie, but he did have a full color Cadillac crest and wreath tattooed on his calf, so I knew he was good company.

I agree it's a little odd, but what do we do on eBay? I too like to be there beforehand; that way I can get a feel for what I'm looking at and haggle. I mean, you can't do a coolant-exhaust strip test over the phone.
