Cadillac has a higher reputation to keep up than, say Chevrolet. When people see Donked out Caddies, or the old "Supa Fly" style pimp cars, that's a bad image to sophisticated luxury buyers to see. It's bad enough the elderly still insist on loading down new DTS's with luggage racks and stick on chrome, but stuff like this...
You know what, forget the speach. Just get over it. You should post some pics of your Fleetwood, it sounds nice. Just don't ask for sympathy because a culture has done everything they can to make themselves loud, over the top, and to attract attention, then get angry when they get it. Move on, and stop trying to defend a movement that you tried so hard to say you're not a part of. |

Just expressing my views, but differently than everyone else. No hard feelings!! |

I agree; let's leave the racial profiling out of this forum. fried chicken and watermelon have nothing to do with such fine Caddies. Maybe when these cars' prices reflect their REAL value, then folks will start preserving them. As for now, all crowds seems to want one. (except those folks who have no respect for fine Americana, call them just old cars, and treat them like trash.... ) That's the dilemma for folks who like cars that aren't that expensive. I mean how often do you see a 1959 Eldorado Biarritz (worth over $100K) in donk form? ...lol
So what are your masters gonna be in, v90? |

On another note, your car is gorgeous, I have only seen a couple white FWB's in my area, and the most recent sighting was at night under expressway lights doin about 75, I had a great view of this white Fleetwood (from a semi) and I realized that these cars in white look better than almost all the other colors at night time... and you know what stereotype popped into my head??... A big fat greasy italian man, and sure enough it was! HAHA, See it goes both ways!
BTW, im almost entirely Sicilian... yep, i'm a guido and I drive big Cadillacs! |

And just for the record, I have no problem with Donk's done right, i even keep toying with the idea of 20"s on my car in the spring.. but regardless I think this car is just poorly done and has no artistic taste to it whatsoever.
Its not that it was modified to the level it was, it was that it looks like ass. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1975-...em230185012327

QUOTE "Watermelon Kool-aid and KFC anyone?" What do you mean by that? QUOTE "It's sort of a "ghetto" thing" What do you drink and eat when you leave your Cadillac stock, or just reprogram the computer, put Impala SS and 9C1 Caprice parts on it? What's that "intelligence and sophistication at its finest"? Everyone's Cadillac wasn't meant to be the same as it was when it left the factory. But its cool to turn your Cadillac into a racecar, instead of buying a damn Corvette, that's meant for racing, and taking to the track and blowing the engine. Every car owner on the globe has done something to make their car unique or just special to them. Who are you people to decide what's right or wrong. Show me the law on car customization. You have the right to say it, that's not a question. But it doesn't mean its right. I grew up in a "ghetto". I'm far from having no intelligence and sophistication. I made it out of that hell and got good grades in school, college,6 hours away from completing my masters;all at 23 years old. I have worked while in college earning money to pay for my 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with clean money, not drug money as some may assume. I see the looks on faces when I'm at stop lights or gas stations. My car is bone stock, but they look at me like its stolen. Maybe its because I live in the most racist state in America. I get the same feeling from constantly seeing this crap in threads like this. Take it how u want to, you all are expressing your feelings and I'm expressing mine. I don't think the creators of this forum intended it to be a way for people downgrade people's creativity. Its still a damn Cadillac. So if I put big rims on my car and paint it some loud color, I just threw out my college education and became "ghetto"? You have got to be freakin kidding me. Get a life and stop looking at cars like this if you don't like them. I'll stop looking at these dumbfounding threads!! | Good post. |
