The blue one isn't nearly as bad, the exterior at least has a little class (it's not the color of a radioactive school bus) but the interior... I just don't understand it. |

Honestly, wherever that car is actually from, it's very likely one of those things people on the street see and think is the best ever.
Go to certain bad neighborhoods, for instance, where any type of Cadillac, Lincoln, etc.--with the more stuff glued on and painted the better--and they're status symbols of a certain group.
Essentially, the word of "the brighter the colors and insanely bigger the wheels--even if that means a truck lift kit--the BETTER!"
A lot of us don't get it...but trust me, a lot do. |

The yellow car should be used at gunnery ranges as a moving target, and, as another poster has already said, the owner should be inside. http://youtube.com/watch?v=OF7u_9yPPuE |

But here is what i think is bad. This dude use to work at UPS with me. The body is perfect, tint looks good. But he can't turn his wheels all the way. And all 4 tires where slick. |

Was he handicapped? Odd because usually when a Caddy is in a handicap space, it's owned by a little ol' lady....hardly the donk type. |

Simply another case of "the biggest wheels possible, regardless of how they fit or look, will make me and the car SO hot"
Then again, at least it doesn't have a trashed out lift kit...so, there's some saving grace there, and as you said, the rest of the normal car is in great shape. |

How come every time someone in this forum sees a Cadillac that someone has customized to their liking, they start a thread downgrading them and making very stereotypical comments about it? If you don't like Cadillacs like that, you don't have to make it seem like its wrong for someone to do what the hell they want with their own money. I really think that this is some bulls**t! QUOTE "Watermelon Kool-aid and KFC anyone?" What do you mean by that? QUOTE "It's sort of a "ghetto" thing" What do you drink and eat when you leave your Cadillac stock, or just reprogram the computer, put Impala SS and 9C1 Caprice parts on it? What's that "intelligence and sophistication at its finest"? Everyone's Cadillac wasn't meant to be the same as it was when it left the factory. But its cool to turn your Cadillac into a racecar, instead of buying a damn Corvette, that's meant for racing, and taking to the track and blowing the engine. Every car owner on the globe has done something to make their car unique or just special to them. Who are you people to decide what's right or wrong. Show me the law on car customization. You have the right to say it, that's not a question. But it doesn't mean its right. I grew up in a "ghetto". I'm far from having no intelligence and sophistication. I made it out of that hell and got good grades in school, college,6 hours away from completing my masters;all at 23 years old. I have worked while in college earning money to pay for my 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with clean money, not drug money as some may assume. I see the looks on faces when I'm at stop lights or gas stations. My car is bone stock, but they look at me like its stolen. Maybe its because I live in the most racist state in America. I get the same feeling from constantly seeing this crap in threads like this. Take it how u want to, you all are expressing your feelings and I'm expressing mine. I don't think the creators of this forum intended it to be a way for people downgrade people's creativity. Its still a damn Cadillac. So if I put big rims on my car and paint it some loud color, I just threw out my college education and became "ghetto"? You have got to be freakin kidding me. Get a life and stop looking at cars like this if you don't like them. I'll stop looking at these dumbfounding threads!!

And if not, why are you pissed? You said your Fleetwood is bone stock, and you're an educated individual, so why do you care? Of course there is no "law" on car customization, but I would assume that any person intelligent enough to rake in the kind of cash it takes to pay for those mods would have a sense of taste, and a reputation. Preventing train wrecks like that yellow Brougham up there. And if it's the stereotypes that got you worked up, turn on MTV, or BET right now and see what you find in a rap music video. And don't start playing the victim because of the black thing, crackers can mess up a Cadillac with the best of 'em. Just look at all those monster truck converted caddies you see on youtube and other such sites. Or, as you mentioned, those who try too hard to turn a luxury vehicle into a track monster. It's just that, many of us acknowledge that these cars are getting scarcer every day, and we thing they should be treated as a slightly more precious commodity than, say a Honda Civic.

I have chosen not to turn my daily driver into one. If I had another vehicle I probably would. So having cash gives someone a sense of taste and a reputation? It was jsut about the cars until I saw the stereotpes, that's the only way it became an issue. The point is people can do what they want to their car. Making it a donk doesn't contribute to them becoming scarcer. Leaving it stock is treating it as a precious commodity?. Donks aren't even driven everyday like stock cars are. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
