My dad's also pissed because I owed him money and didn't pay him back before doing this. I don't have the car with me to check the build date and all that, I'm storing it at a friend's house who's like a block away....... | It's just dieseling, which means the timing is out of adjustment. Poor thing probably needs a major tune up. Don't despair, you'll get through it. But, do pay your dad back before you do anything else. Stiffing the old man is just uncool. |

BTW, those three switches to the right of the gear shift. I know one is the antenna switch and one is the rear window defroster. What's the third one do?

She's GORGEOUS!
Congratulations, Dope!
She's definitely worth all the $$ and effort to come.
Welcome to the Loyal Order of The Busted Knuckle and Horrid Oath.
The interior looks amazingly good and the rusty spots don't look all that bad, either.
Good Luck. |

The third switch is for the Astroroof. Yeah my Fleetwood never looked so small, in reality it's probably like 14-16 inches longer and maybe 7-12 inches wider. The car actually runs pretty well, I love the way it sounds, even my parents had some surprising things to say about it.
Dad: "Ya know I hate to admit it, but.... this is a really nice car...."
Mom: "This thing is too cool. Don't sell it....."
So it looks like this car will be apart of my DopeStarmada for a while. As for "She," this car feels like a guy to me, it has a masculine presence. Who knows, maybe it's haunted like my Fleetwood......
Also someone asked about build date, the door jamb says "03/76." Does anyone know if it was built in the Linden, NJ plant or the Detroit, MI plant?
Monday I begin my cleaning and spraying the rust. I'm also gonna throw a coat of wax on it too. Also what kinda gas would you recommend filling this monstrosity with, I have a quarter of a tank of regular in it right now..... |
