hey just a question ive been wondering about. have you guys ever found weird little things or stuff left over from the previous owner in your cars when you got them? when i got my car, the owner pretty much cleaned everything out for me. i do still have the original gold key membership card and a bottle of insulin from the original owner. theres also a service record under the seat from 1987. pretty cool stuff |

A friend of mine found a body in the trunk of a Caddy in the wrecking yard. Even the running gear parts stank so bad he couldn't sell them.

When I first cleaned out my '83 Coupe de Ville I found four packs of matches a full pink disposable lighter and a really nice vintage silver zippo.
my '90 Brougham has the original cassette in the wrapper and some other stuff like that |

Just bought an '88 Brougham. $1.85 in change in the ashtray. Under the spare tire was the hubcap wrench and an envelope containing the original window sticker, an '88 Cadillac Brochure and a black leather and gold key fob with two gold keys on it.
I have not removed the back seat yet, mmmmm wonder what is under it? |

My one-owner came thru a Lexus dealer in Plano TX, so it was pretty well cleaned out before I had it shipped up to central CT. But as I washed it, I found - and have been finding - MESQUITE LEAVES - or pieces thereof, stuck in every possible crack and crevice.
The damned things are in and around the rear window, all four sides, even UP TOP, defying the law of gravity after many washings.
They're stuck where the bumperettes meet the bumpers.
I've used the power washer (1,750psi) to blast them out and they're still coming!
They're around the tail light trim.
I've used the ShopVac to pull them out of the intake cowl after I started finding them all over the car.
Apparently the previous owner parked the car under such a tree when he didn't garage the vehicle.
Now, if there were some twigs or branches, maybe I could at least get some decent BBQ out if this. |

When I removed the back seat for a thorough detailing after I bought my '79 Fleetwood Brougham, I found remnants of those two-piece plastic champagne flutes, Taco Bell sauce packs, electrical tape, panty hose, Cat Stevens & Electric Light Orchestra 8-tracks, and a steak knife. It was almost like a rolling crime scene.
While it was not a tangible item, there were also high-heel marks in the headliner.
Needless to say, I never disclosed this to my girlfriend, as I did not want to gross her out to the point that she would not want to be seen in it. Who knows what DNA was left in that car by the time I got it? What a pit, but I loved that car...and it's obvious it served its previous owner quite well!

In my STS I found the original window sticker, the uncut gold key blanks in a small pouch under the seat, and the audio demo tape in the glove box.

I found a ton of stuff in my 89s brougham. In the trunk there were service records dating back to 1993. There was a stuffed toy fish under the back seat, and a strange action figure as well. Odd since the car was owned by two old men. I also found a number of screwdrivers and stuff. |

I found a cigar. Don't know where it came from and certainly didn't try to smoke it. It looked like a cheap cigar that would be like smoking a gym sock if it were new. And this had been under a car seat for who-knows-how-long.
On the other hand my ladyfriend found a DVD copy of "Donny Darko" behind the seat of one of her cars and said it was "really decent" which I suppose is high praise for a movie found behind a car seat... | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
