| | | Re: Post a pic of your RWD Caddy! Yeah, it's finally happening! I'm going with a local painter who did a 1951 Chevrolet for a guy I know. He does wonderful work, and I trust him. It's going to be the original color, of course and it's going to be wet-sanded and buffed to a mirror shine. All new rear fillers, all dents filled, bumpers removed, the whole enchilada. And I'm getting different than factory pin striping, so I'm having him do tape in case I want to go back to stock later. It'll look good, and I'll post after it's done. I also have a couple other things going on it. |

Good luck with the new paint job! |

| | | Re: Post a pic of your RWD Caddy! Well, I think I did. Wheelman said his silver Coupe DeVille matched the fillers exactly. That silver would have been the production color 'Platinum Metallic' so I'll go with that. Close enough either way.
On a related subject, my '84 Cutlass has the same silver panels so it's probably a generic color. Although I didn't know how nice that silver could look! I mean you wouldn't think it would age, being under the trunk and all. But today I rubbing compounded the ones on the Cutlass and the difference was night and day. And that car has been garaged all it's life! It's like this film just builds up over time. You should try it. |

Is that a 'wheel skin' on your steering wheel? How do you like it?
Ben. | Thanks! As to the steering wheel cover, it's one of those leather ones you get from the auto parts store. I put it on because my car has a miraculously intact steering wheel (the inlay on the rim isn't broken!!) and I want it to stay that way. It does the job, and it's thinner and not so ghetto as those thick vinyl jobs. |
