The first thing purchased for my 74, before it was delivered was the stainless steel eyelids. Can't wait to have her in nice enough condition to warrant their installation. Love how they make the whole light look chromed!
The grille looks great, only the rare purist would notice, and even they may miss it. They would be distracted by the beauty of the coupe body in that gorgeous color!

First time Caddy owner, long time caddy driver though. Learned to drive and took my driver's license test in mom's 88 Deville. I just got this 1968 Coupe Deville from a friend. It runs and drives fairly well but has pretty bad rust . Hoping I can work some of that out with some help.

That is a nice 68, did 67 carry the same body style?
There was one here around my neighborhood in the backyard of a house and now it is history. I would love to help but were pretty far apart...

Other than the famous fender bottom rust which they came standard with in those years that looks like a really solid survivor! Great looking car.
Plenty of help available here that is for sure. Plenty of us fighting the same fight.

yeah you're right. Before the car I got, I would be told nice 84 and that is because of the grille, so it bothers me a bit but there was no 80 Caddy at the yard so I got this one because all the tabs were there. I could have installed the RR style grille I had but did not. (sold already) Now, it does not matter because it is parked to the side of the house under covers...

Not exactly the same, but very similar. The sides and roof line were identical, but there were slight differences in the tail-end and front designs.

In '67, the rear bumper had a white, checkered patterned panel going across the bumper.

The '68 rear bumper was an untextured piece of chrome.

The hood and front grill of the '67 were designed, so the hood went flat across the top of the grill.

The '68 hood and grill were designed, so the hood could come down to the marker lights.

Last Sunday I took Rex to a monthly classic car meeting close to my city. There he met a brother: A '73 Sedan de Ville excellently cared and preserved. A friend bought it recently for a good price. The caddy was in New York until 2006-2007, when it was brought to Spain for the former owner:

That's still such a pretty car. Any reason you're not driving it that I missed? Also, could you tell me what brand of tires those are on the driver's side with the wider whitewall?

    Reason-
    1. Rear seal on d/s axle bad
    2. It was contantly stalling out; leaking fuel at fuel inlet at carb
    3. Starter broke apart.
    Solution-
    1. not fixed
    2. installed fuel filter correctly I had it backwards; replaced fuel inlet (the one fuel line screws in)
    3. new starter
    Overall-
I got a new car (to me; 11 Hyundai Sonata Limited) so it is parked there since November. I do go start her up for awhile.
    Tires are all mismatched, lol
Front d/s is a Enduro 75 (you can make out the 75 in the picture)
Rear d/s is a Dimension IV
all but one are same size P215/75R/15 other is a 70R
