Re: Post a pic of your RWD Caddy!

In the summer of 2011, I purchased this 1988 Brougham d'Elegance. I then replaced the back bumper, wet sanded and buffed the entire car, and sold it in October of 2011. Here is the car after I completed the wet sand and buffing process. This mild restoration took me two weeks to complete.

Currently I own this 1991 Brougham d'Elegance with a 5.7 liter V8, astroroof, genuine wire wheels, gold package, and only 78K on the odometer. It is my dream Brougham, and it will be sold over my dead body (I think). Owned 2010-present.

Brandon, never seeing all of your Broughams listed in one place before, I've gotta say, of those five, my favorite is the Dark Antelope '91 D'Elegance. The blue one is great, but that Dark Antelope color is the cat's meow.

So is that Dark Antelope a custom color??? Looks like its black with light antelope metallic trim, a combo never offered by the factory. The rocker trim looks good with all the gold badges though. What color is the interior?

Dark Antelope was a factory color, albeit a very rare one.

DAMN! Bro-Ham wasnt lying when he said museum worthy. Probably the best Broughams I've seen. I see we share the same stomping grounds, we should trade Broughams for a little bit(forever). That first one is just jaw-dropping.

    csbuckn,

I think I saw a video of your white 90 Brougham on youtube. Your Cadillac features a 500 c.i. V8, and I think I saw your friend in a 80-90 Caprice of some sort. Does that sound like you? It would be my pleasure to have you and your white Brougham to my house. I'm working on a 1984 Parisienne Brougham right now. I just built up the motor in it.

    Aron9000,

Like Chad stated, dark antelope was a factory color. I think I've seen it on some little FWD DeVilles as well. Dark Antelope generally looks like dark brown metallic, but when repainted in urethane base/clear or well buffed it looks almost black when not in direct sunlight. The interior of that car is beige leather. Someone can feel free to chime in with the correct Cadillac name for "beige" in 1991.

    Hey Big80sBrougham,

That dual exhaust looks bad azz. Can you put up some more pics of it? Where did you get the chrome tips at? I'm getting dual exhaust put onto my 78 fleetwood this summer and would like to have it look like this when it's done.

I couldnīt express my opinion better than csbuckn. My favourite is the second car shown: 1988 Dark Sapphire Blue Brougham

Gotcha now. In those pics it looked black, but its actually a really dark brown.

I really liked that red on whore house red leather Cadillac you flipped. Total sucker for a red Cadillac, thus I bought one.

And I know you've owned a ton of these things, so I'm kind of curious as how one would fix the faded buttons on D'Elegance leather seats. Seems to be a common enough problem, my old car suffered from it.

First I would apply a small squirt of Westly's Bleach White tire cleaner to the faded button while it is hot and dry, and very quickly scrub it with a wet toothbrush. Immediately afterward, I would get all in there with a dry terrycloth and clean out the button and tufted area. Then I would apply an interior conditioner with a very high silicone content to the button and button only. In some cases, that'll bring a button back to life. If not than it's Leatherique dye, reupholstering, or a miracle find of new mint old seats.

Mmmmm. When I conquer the rest of the world (Groveland/Clermont have succumbed to me) I will have a collection like that.

All those photos almost make me wish my Brougham had a trunk.

Brandon, seeing all your beautiful Broughams really has me pining for another 90-92 car. If you ever want to sell me one, shoot me a PM. And I assume that you sold that red on red 88 a long time ago.
