Thanks, since acquiring the car I have become quite the RPO nerd The car has been sitting in the carport for about a year and is filthy in the picture. There was literally no fuel in the tank so I put in some fresh fuel prior to starting, installed a fresh Interstate 1000CCA battery and it cranked right off.

Does anyone know: In '90 if you ordered the LO5 350 TBI, you got the V92 Trailer Provisions. That being the case, was the FE2 HD Ride Package also standard? It seems every 1990 5.7 car I have seen does have the RPO FE2, is this not the case with the 91-92 models seen lots of FE1 with the 5.7 these years? I am amazed at the handling of this car compared to grandmas older 70s-80s Cads. Her first was in the 40s; I was with her at Frederick Cadillac when she bought her '87 Brougham D'Elegance off the showroom floor.

I also am diggin the silver Brougham above. I am a sucker for silver Cads although the paint is usually shot. I have always wanted a '73 Coupe DeVille silver/black leather sans vinyl top..oh yea in mint condition...

Yes, the I believe trailer package mandated the L05 and FE2.

Thanks for the double repost! I don't know the name of the color, but it's stock '84. The d'Elegance velour is nice, too, but the defrost needs work

So in '90, the LO5 mandated the V92 T/T and the FE2. In 91-92 the T/T package(FE2 mandatory) were a separate option from the LO5. Now I can sleep Thanks for the info.

I always thought if you got the LO5 350 you had to get the FE2 stiff suspension. I know my 91 has both, damn thing does not ride like a Cadillac. It still rides nice, but more in the sense of how an Impala SS rides, firmer, no floaty float.

I will agree that the FE2 cars do handle great for their size. Much better than a 90's Suburban I was driving a while back, which is about the same size, lol. Suburban rode better though.

I thought so too. In 1990, RPO V92 T/T and FE2 automatically came with the LO5 at least every '90 I have seen has had all three RPOs and some websites state they were all mandatory with the LO5 option. I have seen a few '91 and '92 LO5 cars with the FE1 Soft Ride Package and no V92 or V4P as the T/T was called in '92(also increased to 7000lbs from 5000lbs). These stats are as per the Cadillac history website, could be incorrect as option packages sometimes change mid-year. It is my understanding that in '91 and '92 you could order an non T/T soft suspension LO5, where in '90 you could not. What awesome cars!

Last sunday I filmed a video with my caddy idling. It needs some timing adjusting yet:

Chrome/steel polishing and detail fixing is under way Next weekend we plan fixing steering, brakes, changing shocks, cleaning and adjusting carburetor, adjusting ignition, changing belts, fan clutch... and if possible making wipers work.

I love the way my car looks in the rain. I just wish the windshield wipers worked now. I need to go on a junkyard excursion to find a new wiper switch and see it that fixes it.

I'm also considering going with black walls all the way around to accent the black and silver. The hubcaps stand out more with the blackwalls. I had to replace the front two tires and found two at the junkyard. for $20 each.

Here's another one comparing the front and back. The front are 235/75/15 and the back are 235/70/15. The big black walls are really starting to grow on me (at least on my car).

Plus they're easier to find at an affordable price. I could always dress up the wheel wells with some black and chrome colored mud flaps.

    What do you guys think?

For that colour and year, I think black walls make the car looking more elegant.

Its just not a Caddy without whitewalls. These cars look like ass with stock wheels/hubcaps and blackwalls, NO EXCEPTIONS.
    Spillin and Spillin like this.
