Honestly, I think those pics are cool. The image quality makes them look like vintage ads. With a little more thought about composition, you could have shots that you would want to frame. (Try and avoid things in the background like the power lines and the telephone poles).
Nice car |

1979 Sedan deVille. Black with red leather interior and a red pinstripe. 108k miles.
Mini review: (I only drove it around the parking lot at work, so forgive me, but here goes)
Between the '84 Sedan deVille I drove, and the '90 Brougham I've driven quite a bit, the '79 felt a lot more like the '90, but it was probably because they both had the leather interior (probably the exact same seat). The seats were comfy, but lacked the lateral support that my seats do, they felt wider and flatter, but not as deep as the cloth seats in that '84 (those seats were to die for!). Otherwise, the 425 provided ample low end torque, but oddly enough, it didn't feel *that* much more powerful or torquey, and the throttle responce was (obviously) not as sharp as the EFI cars. Otherwise, from memory, the car didn't feel that much different than the other 77-92 D bodies I've driven.

Took the pics in the hills above Malibu. If the concrete barrier was gone, you could see (through the haze) the Pacific Ocean.
Ben,
Thanks! She's not perfect by a long shot, more of a nice driver, but I'm making progress.
Brian,
The see-through ornament was introduced as standard on the 1974 DeVille/Calais and ran through 1977. D'Elegance models got the Fleetwood-style full wreath and crest.
Jay,
Thanks! Like I said, I'm no photographer, I deficiency I inherited from my dad. A fine man, rest him, but he could no more take a clear picture than pick a reliable car ('68 AMC Rebel, '78 Chevette, '81 Plymouth Horizon? I ask you.). However, someday, I will finally break down and buy a digital camera and learn how to use the thing properly. I will also learn how to use the multi-quote function on this website.
Thanks to all for the props! Keep the pics coming!

The base model is rare and to my eyes looks better without the vinyl roof like you have. Plus, I like the different look of the lace look alloy wheels. Keep it going! Dave |

Hearty survivor of 17 New England winters. Never garaged, and proud of it! Original paint and everything, I gave it a wash and wax before the pictures, amazing what that'll do.
Also, those tires were put on last week. Those are the p235 dimension IVs. I don't think they look bad at all, and the wider white wall works good on a black car, in my opinion. Certainly not bad, but if you do get them, they rub against the chassis when the wheel is forced all the way, so, um try not to do that.
That's a gold-plated k40 CB radio antenna. They originally sold for like, 200 bucks back in 1985, but when i went to my local car audio garage, it's all he had in the shop so i got it for 45 bucks. |

Be forewarned. The front seats aren't pretty, but the back seats are like brand new, so it sort of evens out. |

Wow, that's sharp! The whitewalls just set it off perfectly don't they? It looks so mob. Have you ever though of mildly tinting the windows? |

Tinting the windows is definitely on the list of things to do, if only to keep the sun out during the summer. With a black exterior and leather inside, you could fry an egg on those seats, which may be why the front ones look like this...
But enough of that. Here's something, I'm particularly proud of, my dashboard. I really like the way it glows at night. I feel like I'm driving in the Batmobile.
And here's the back seat. Like new! I wish I could drive from here. While i was taking the pictures, i sat there for a good ten minutes just appreciating the comfort. |
