    2008 Escalade Esv Center console

    Hello,
The center console top compartment will not open because the latch is broken. Do I need to replace the whole console or can I just buy the lid or replace the latch? Whats the best fix for this?
    Thank you

there used to be a fix for just the latch pieces but once GM came out with the second design lid with the indent in it they discontinued the pieces and you can only get a whole lid now

the advantage for you is that you get to upgrade to the new style

    your interior is black/ebony, right?

Yes. Where can I purchase them that might be reasonable?

here's the email that i sent you (in case anyone else runs across this and needs the info)

    Sonny,

You have to get the whole armrest lid and compartment below (about 5 inches tall). It comes with the hinge and is actually pretty easy to install (from what I have been told).

The good news is that you will be getting the 2011+ style armrest with the indentation in it which is a much nicer style armrest lid.

The bad news is that it costs quite a lot.
List price is $495 but we can sell it to you for $371.25 plus some shipping.

... One final thought: this is all for non-platinum edition escalades
the platinums have a totally different part

let me know if you have any questions or would like some pictures of the new style armrest lid

    cheers,
    chris heath
