Re: I need part 13 on this diagram.

There were actually two designs in 2003 and that part number is the second design.

It fits vehicles with the last 8 digits of 30129583 and higher

the first design cable has been discontinued so i assume that if you need that one you'll have to either get a used cable or upgrade the whole pedal assembly

Darn it. Whats the part number for the first design? I have last 8 digits of: 3011-1158
Also where could I get it used? If its part number 25740365 I have just looked through the first few pages of google with no luck at all.

Re: I need part 13 on this diagram.

    it is #25740365
    GM has discontinued it
and I don't see that any dealers stock it still

you could get it used from the salvage yard of your choice
    maybe check car-part.com

i'm not sure what the difference is but i would assume that it would be quite the risk to get the second design part and hope that you can make it fit

    sorry for the bad news

Yes, they show it and will let you place an order, but do they actually have one to sell you?

    i'd put money on "no"

You just won money. They emailed me today issuing a refund and apologizing.

I hope im not about to get screwed into a whole new assembly over an 8 dollar cable.

Re: I need part 13 on this diagram.

I called one place. After that I determined id never be able to describe the part and that the fact it was discontinued halfway through 2003 means that no one is going to be able to get me this. So I went to the bike store, bought 2 feet of cable, 2 cable ends and im going to repair the cable myself. Id rather spend an hour messing with cable lengths than spending a ton of money and time doing the pedal assembly itself.

Anyway, thanks for your support and help with the part numbers. Ill report back when I get it patched.

Re: I need part 13 on this diagram.

Okay fixed it. The bike cable did not fit into the rubber hose very well at all. It was too stiff and basically useless. I went straight from the handle to the pedal assembly release lever. Smart? Maybe not the best idea but the cable is very thick and will last years. Just make sure if you do that you lightly pull the handle dont rip it back like youre starting a lawn mower. Also get some cable ends, they are $6 and they cap off the end of the cable so it wont slide out of the groove of the foot pedal assembly release lever.
