    Re: Alternator

the OEM alternators are all gone to remans ... there are ACDelco remans available but we usually recommend an aftermarket brand called Visteon (not sure if they're nationwide or not)

I have had one in my 99 deville for over a year now... they carry a 3-year warranty while the ACDelco carries a 1-year warranty and is usually more expensive.

See if you can find a good aftermarket alternator locally (or a rebuilder to fix your alternator)

$150-$200 is a good price on these

    Re: Alternator

reman can be good if it has a decent warranty... that way you know that you're getting a good fitment since they're re-using the housing

a lot of the problems with the aftermarket alternators for these 90's N* cars seems to be in the sizing/shape of the housings and getting it just right
