| | | Killing the Zeta This is not directed at Cadillac executives, so to say, but more at GM top brass as a way to vent a little anger. So you've killed the Zeta. Now what. You plan on building new trucks instead? Wow, I'm so incredibly thrilled! First of all, you do not need to be trashing a great idea for a stupid one. Chevy trucks are already poor quality enough! Face it! Ford has the F-150. Just a plain great truck with one hell of a frame. Dodge has decent styling, and the hemi is just plain fun to drive. What do you have? The SS? Wow! 345 horsepower, as much as a stock Ram 1500 with the hemi. Ever heard of the SRT-10 or the Lightning? You have already been outmatched, and now, instead of focusing on what really matters, cars, you're trying to build more crappy trucks. There's a reason people buy F-150s. Watching GM for the past several years has been great. You've come out of the dark ages, the 70s and the 80s, to give us the V family, which is great, but nonetheless, they still get clobered by MB and BMW. You killed the Olds, turned the Buick into LaSalle, called a Chevy the "Malibu Maxx," brought back the GTO in Grand Am form (I know it's a Holden, but it looks the same to an American), and all the while let Toyota nip at market share. For God's sake, get it together! No V should have wheel hop. No Cadillac should be front wheel drive. Quality should be better than Lincoln. The Chevelle should never be a souped up Cavelier, under any circumstance. You should be offering a super-hi-performance truck. You should be offering a full-sized B-Body. But instead, you're gonna make some more crappy baseline trucks! I'm glad I drive a 1990 Cadillac. At least you knew how to build a passenger vehicle with a 350 and RWD back then!

| | | Re: Killing the Zeta . Chrysler is dominating the domestic market right now. Neither GM nor Ford have anything even close to match their products and Chrylser's doing it for far less money. Let's see the STS-V try and outpace a 300 SRT-8. Isn't that even a little embarassing that a less than 40k Chrysler can run circles around the most expensive performance GM sedan in their whole lineup? I think it's safe to say the Ford 500 need not even be mentioned, it appears that they're trying to re-live Chrysler's K-car days with this worlds most boring automobile. |

Give Lutz what he needs to do his job ...he is not your fall guy ....like your Olds division youve starved him of resources and wrapped him up in beuocracy ...no your allowing the public to blame him for what you have done
Unleash Lutz , and escort Wanyne Cherry off the grounds forever ....he retired i know but he still hangs around too much , and when he worked for you guys you had the most boreing styleing out there....Give John Caffero a raise and let him run design...

| | | Re: Killing the Zeta I think the 2007 Chevy Silverado should have a fully-boxed frame.
It also needs GM's 4200 I-6. It has 4.2 liters, 275 hp, and 275 lb-ft of torque. Here is a picture of it. |

While the SRT-8 may be as fast or faster. I have to say, they are cars in two seperate classes. It would be like comparing an Eldorado to a 4th gen F-body. In a way. Two door V8 coupe. But different. Hard to explain. I hope you kinda see what I mean. STS-V is in a different class than the SRT-8. It's competing more with M5 Bimmer. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
