Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
I'm not sure what they have planned for the DeVille in the future, but I hope they make it similar to the current Lincoln Town Car. I drive a Fleetwood Brougham - I like big, soft-riding, soft-leathered comfortable cars. Right now, Cadillac doesn't have one. Lincoln has a "L"ong version of their Town Car and That's what I like. Being I'm a Cadillac enthusiast, I'd like the option to buy something like that - I'm sure many people do.
How about you? I know plenty of you have mentioned you're going to buy a Lincoln Town Car as your next vehicle.. Wouldn't you stick with Cadillac if they offered the Fleetwood again?

Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
I am all for the sporty Cadillacs but I would like to see and possibly own a more luxurious Cadillac with a lot of tasteful wood and leather. So yes I would like to see a nice comfortable and extremely classy full size sedan again. The new DTS is not what I am really looking for. I don't like how it shares so much with the Buick Lucern.
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
that would be great. i like the advertisement Cadillac did called "Cadillac of Cadillacs." i dont remember how it went and i dont remember where i seen it. i think it would be a shock to the industry if they did. the fact that i couldnt afford one doesnt bother me a bit. i would just like to see FLEETWOOD. IMHO it would be sweet if they made the Fleetwood to compete with the Maybach or a Rolls or a Bentley.
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
I second all of this. What happened to Cadillac being a luxury car, instead of trying to be a european sports car? This is why Lincoln has dominated the limo and car service industry for decades. At the Auto Show in NYC recently, I sat in both a Town Car and the DeVille, and the Deville did'nt have half the roominess or comfort as the Town Car. And, it costs more!! For what, it feels like Ford Taurus to me.
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
I've driven for many years Lincolns and Cadillac's. I've actually had 4-5 times more Lincolns than Caddys but right now I don't think either company has much to offer for those who want the cushy, luxury seat comfort. Let me explain.
First I agree Caddy seems to think everything has to look like an angry warring blender. Euro sport luxury is where they want to be.
Lincoln has not spent there money on Lincoln design instead it all has gone to Ford's premere auto line (Jag, Volvo, etc.) There for you have a Town Car that is getting as stale as the crown vic. It does have navigation but certainly not cutting edge with electronic's or luxury. All they have right is the big boat aspect.
I know I owned two Limo companys and 85% of all limo's are Lincoln. I currently own an 04 Deville and a 91 Coupe Deville Spring edition. I drive the 91 as my first choice. So much so I bought another 91, a twin to my first only 80 numbers appart in VIN numbers. I love the 91 Coupe's right, plush seats and big luxury looks and feel. Some many think I'm nuts letting my 04 sit in the driveway but I agree Caddy isn't giving me what I want in current models but Lincoln isn't either. Give me real wood interior, Navigation, Sat. radio a cushy overstuffed seat and a look that is not only like non other but one that says luxury. Toss in a novelty gimicky gissmo on the car that no other car has and I'm happy. Kind of like the sequential turn signals of the Tbird or something.
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
lincoln does have an exceptional ride. ilike the towncar because its long and FAT the devilles are too SKINNY haha
anyways i was tempted to trade in my deville after i test drove the towncar it was so hard to leave the lincoln dealer. i just couldn't face the fact that i would be driving a FORD product and be leaving the cadillac owners site i did not want to be an opposer. GM for-sure needs the caprice and Fleetwood back also the roadmaster. look at how much money they gave to ford when they stopped making those big cars. ford now makes almost all the police cars and cabs.
The fleetwood needs to be reintroduced with the trimline of brougham. Yes Sal I am waiting for the next fleetwood to be introduced so i can buy one. i have been waiting since 1997. I want a BIG BIG BIG cadillac with the LT1 or duramax diseal so when i pull up to a benz i can say look at me.( i hope the future fleetwood tobe as big mercedez flagship i dont know what its called but is HUGH!)
but for now i can only dream of a 2007-08-09-10 etc. Fleetwood by Cadillac.
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
it hink cadillac should stop aiming for European luxury sports, they are never going to conquer it, im sorry as much as i love 'lacs, they are simply not sportscars. they should be luxury and nothing but. my wifes Deville (04) is lacking something that should be there, i did own a Lincoln Town Car two years ago, and it is old, but it was more comfortable. I hate saying that but there ya go
Re: Does Cadillac realize there's still a market for comfort?
I'm slightly more convinced that they do realize there is a market for comfort now that I know the DTS will be offered with a front bench seat. The front bench is traditionally the mark of a comfort tuned car rather than sports tuned one.
