Water pump question on 94 STS

I have a 94 STS with 191,000 miles. The other day I blew a heater hose and the engine overheated. I knew from reading that the engine will run in 'limp' mode for a short period of time. So, I drove the car home and changed the hose the next day. The car runs fine except now I have a leak coming from the front drivers side of the engine. It appears to be coming from the pulley of the water pump but I'm not 100% sure because I can't see clearly. My questions are:

    1) Do I need a new water pump?

    2) Can I just replace the seal?

    3) How do I actually change the pump? I know I need a special pump removal tool.

    4) Anyone know of any websites that show pictures?

    Thanks!

    Geoff

If it is leaking from the pump cover, all you need to replace is the redesigned gasket. If it is leaking from the pump shaft seal on the backside, you need to replace the pump. Here is a pic of a pump removal tool that I made. http://www.geocities.com/grandolfo. Remember, the pump is cam locked, not threaded so it only takes 1/8 -1/4 turn clockwise to remove and counter clockwise to install. I have heard that some of the older (green coolant) ones can get corroded in place and need the aid of a pipe (extention) on the wrench. If that does not work, a few short bursts from an impact will usually do the trick.

Thanks Ranger! I called my local Autozone and they have a pump and the tool to use.

Is it fairly easy to get the pump out? I didn't really look at it much. I'm assuming there aren't too many things I need to take off in order to get to the pump right?
