Exclamation Adjust TCS Sensitivity?

Remove this ad
Is it possible to adjust the amount of wheel slip it takes to engage the TCS during accelleration? My '97 STS (ODB II) engages the TCS very frequently during hard acceleration, especially when pulling out from a side street. It engages with much less wheel slip than my '95 (ODB I) STS did. Infact, most of the time I don't even hear the tires squeak.

Re: Adjust TCS Sensitivity?

you can trick the WSS to think all 4 are the same speed.
you will need to "split" the signal .
one input-4 outputs
use a rear wheel as the master sensor

Re: Adjust TCS Sensitivity?

I'm not looking to disable it. I was hoping to adjust it in the PCM or TCM by adjusting one of the data values. I know with the ODB I you could adjust things like engine timing that way. Any similar method to adjust TCS?

Re: Adjust TCS Sensitivity?

I m sure you could "adjust" it by making a signal on a signal generator.
The TCS/ABS uses wheel speed inputs to aid in keeping all 4 wheels at the same speed. The wheel speed sensor is a generator and the faster it goes the more voltage it puts out.Its going to be pretty hard to trick the PCM into believing all 4 wheels are traveling at the same speed.
Pull the ABS fuse if you want to burn rubber.
