Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

Check the water pump belt tensioner and make sure the purge line is clear and flows coolant. If all is ok, do a cylinder pressure test.

Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

Hmm, not using any coolant? No bubbles in the surge tank when started cold with the cap off? Perhaps a faulty tempurature sensor.

Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

Does it lose coolant?

Ranger suggested a cylinder pressure test, not a compression test.

Have a combustion byproduct test done. Radiator shops usually do them inexpensively.

There's a large chance the headgaskets are leaking.

Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

Mistake on test noted but so far the vehicle hasn't run hot since replacing coolant with dex cool...... it would normall run hot after 30 mins of normal driving...... no problems with my daughter driving it all day. I will have the cylinder test done for reassurance..... thanks.

Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

You should have the combustion byproduct test done after the coolant is in there awhile. Like I said, radiator shops do them much cheaper than mechanics.

Re: Overheating 95 Seville Sls

another question..... what can be the cause of no information displayed when the info button is pushed? "change engine oil" can not be reset and nothing can be monitored...( coolant temp.... voltage) car flashes "system" and "change engine oil" while driving...... computer maybe? if so, where is it's location if it nedds to be replaced.... my daughter loves the car.....
