97 N* low oil pressure light flickering

I have a 97 deville concours. It has 120,000 miles on it and the Cadillac mechanic is saying get rid of it. This car has been well maintained at Cadillac and had a GMPP warranty to 100,000 miles. It is a great car except for this issue just arising. The mechanic says it could be a sign of bearing wear. I do not want to get rid of car if there is nothing major wrong. I have changed the oil pressure sensor....it was leaking. I have always run 10W-30 in the car. The light flickers intermittantly when Hot outside.. a new occurance. I live in the south. Any suggestions? I have seen the other posts but am unsure of what to do........change the sensor again...run Rottella 15W-40 in it or sell! Thanks for the guidance.

1 add-on. It only flickers at an idle when hot and only sparadically.

Make sure the replacement sensor was a genuine Cadillac part. If so, then go the Rotella route.

Thanks for the response. I will check the brand of the sensor.....pretty sure it was AC Delco
