    I need step by step procedure to replace a 2005 STS motor LH2 quickly

    I need step by step procedure to replace a 2005 STS motor LH2 ? HELP Pulling this engine from top is impossible correct? please lend any assistance I have ordered a helm's service manual and a dvd but neither will be here in time to get my car working by monday.

    For starters there is no way on this earth that you can have the car 'working' by Monday if the engine has to be removed. Without knowing exactly why this job is starting there's no way to give advice in the dark.

    I am simply swapping out an 05 engine with a 06 engine with half as many miles.

    The LH2 is a different animal than the traditional fwd N*. The FSM details pulling the transmission and the front axle (if equipped) and then dropping the subframe out the bottom. I suppose if you adequately support the tranny and remove the hood, you should be able to pull it out the top.

    we ended up slightly lowering the frame then taking it out the top. New engine is in but still lacks 3-4 hours of labor. Guess Ill be missing work...lol
