See the ignition cassette inset into the cam cover? They are under there. Sub has posted pictures of it many, many times. Should be easy to find.

    Re: Spark plugs

I'm new here so please bear with me. I know how to get to them, I've removed the cover but which nuts do I need to remove to get at the plugs. Also, where are the pics you talk about? Thank you!!!

    Re: Spark plugs

You have to remove both ignition coil cassettes, as well as the A.I.R. valve on the rear cam cover. The cam covers DO NOT need to be removed. The flange nuts on the valve, down behind the engine, are a bear.

You need to remove the ICM harness connector, the seven 10mm cassette retainer bolts, lift the cassette(s) and remove the rubber plug boots. Check the boots for moisture and carbon tracks. If tracked, replace all the boots. You may find one or more plugs with oil on the body - normal, as the wells are sealed with O-rings in the cam cover and they tend to weep.

Torque the plugs to 13 ft/lb. and use ONLY AC Delco #41-987 Platinum plugs. You may use a tiny smear of anti-seize on the first 3 or 4 plug threads.

Here's the torquing sequence (80 in lbs) for going back in with the cassette.

You may or may not have an AIR valve on the rear bank my 2000 doesn't my 2002 does. Removing the AIR valve is a PIA the first time you do one.
