I just talked to my friend the other day, and he found out one of his cousins works at a caddy dealership. So he asked him if its possible to change the top speed limiter on my 2001 sts, and his 98 etc, and he said yes! so, probably tomorrow(sat) we will go down there and see what he can do. I can't wait. FInally a place that will do it,
Frank

Sounds great! Just remember that the speed limiter is there based on the tire speed ratings, so if you intend to exceed the OEM speed limitations, you SHOULD upgrade your tires. I know that seems extreme but I'd be irresponsible if I didn't at least mention it. Also, beware that messing with the OEM flash is risky.

The STS with H-rated tires has a 130 mph limiter; with Z or W rated tires a 155 mph limiter. The SLS is limited to 112 mph.

True top speed for a stock STS is probably under 150 mph. Motor Trend measured 148 mph; the factory tests averaged 146 mph.
