Birds nest under my intake. 94 STS

Just cleaned my EGR, than decided upon the advise of overwelming information on this board decided to clean the PHENOLIC SPACER PLATES per directions found here. Under the intake lies this pile of looks like insulation opposite the starter. What is this & what do I do?

    Thanks in advance.

Hard telling what it is. It doesn't belong there so remove it. Probably a rodent.

Those plates are nasty to clean, ey?

I got the egr valve clean. Cleaned about 6 ounces of black crud from the channels in the top of the head, the phenolic spacers & the milled slots in each port with a screw driver & shop vac. I also cleaned the inside of the throttle body & my K& M air cleaner while I was at it.

I lost a screw for the throttle body & will have to wait till tomorrow to test it. Cant wait.

There is comeone else on this site that had this pile of material under the intake. I thought it was odd when I read it & than I found the same thing in mine. This pile was larger than a softball & rather clean. Its gone now.

Just wondering, how would that bugger get in with the throttle body being shut with the car motor being off? Thoughts LOL The car is immaculate & has never seen the Michigan snow here ,so he would have the time to vacation in my engine vally.

Was this nest IN the intake manifold or UNDER it? If it is under it as you said in your first post the little creature could just climb down in there behind the PS pump. It couldn't have gotten INTO it, as you said the TB butterfly being closed.

The stuff you described was under the intake, infront of the starter, eh...??? That is not inside the intake manifold...it is under the intake manifold. The valley of the Northstar engine is dry...it is open to the outside world...just look down immediately behind the power steering pump and you can see into the valley of the engine....the little mousey just crawled right in there. No need to go up the intake and sneek past the throttle blade....
