    Oil Pan Problem

    well i have a 96 Deveil with the 4.7liter.
    and i need to replace the whole oil pan because i hit a rock and broke a hole in the old one.
    anyone have any tips on how to remove the oil pan.

    Umm, what 4.7 liter did cadillac make? I think u might be thinking 4.6 liter Northstar. If it ain't a Northstar, then u gotta post in the other engine forum, cuz this the Northstar Forum. Anyway, if it is a Northstar, then I beleive u have to drop the cradle I believe. Not 100%. Never did it so don't take my word for it.

    Yeah, I don't believe the pan can be removed without dropping the engine.

    pull the trans and then you can remove the oil pan
