    Help on hesitant start...

My '98 STS with 81k has an increasingly hesitant start. You turn the key and sometimes it starts normally, sometimes there is a delay, sometimes too brief a start to run the engine, and sometimes, like yesterday, you have to wait 15 cotton picking minutes before she wants to crank at all. I am thinking ignition module. Am I on the right track as far as you know? Sure has been a good car, as I bought it new and plan to run her as far as she will go.

If you mean 15 min. of silence and no cranking at all, check the battery cables.

Will check the battery cables, thanks. I already replaced the battery when all this started and it worked fine for awhile, but slowly resumed its problem. I will look for crimps and cuts.

Check for tight, clean connections. If there was any corrosion, make sure it did not get under the cable insulation.
