Twin Turbo N* powered 1948 Tucker

"The final piece arrives as a 4.6-liter Cadillac Northstar engine trimmed with dual Garrett T28 turbos and twin intercoolers, controlled by a Detail Zone standalone harness and Perfect Power SMT6 unit for tuning the big eight-cylinder. With dual spools in constant thirst, a 31-gallon Rock Valley fuel tank holds plenty of juice. Ida says the New Tucker 48 makes 398hp at a low 3.5-pound boost. “This car won’t do a burnout. With the engine over the rear axle, traction is incredible. No matter what you do, it just plants the wheels and goes.”

Too bad you can't really see the engine, but damn this car is pure sex.

imagine a flame thrower mod on those pipes hot diggetty damn

but, a northstar is already at 300 horses, you mean to tell me that twin turbos only helped add 98 horses

not worth it if you ask me

He's running 3 psi on two TINY turbo's. He'll get great spool, and plenty of low torque.

If he installed a decent turbo(s) and turned up the boost to 7psi... which is completely fine for a stock engine... he would probably be close to 500hp.

They don't specify so it's possible that's rear wheel HP, if so it's be more like 475 flywheel.

I would buy it! (if I weren't poor)

I am sure it moves though, all that weight on the rear tires.

Re: Twin Turbo N* powered 1948 Tucker

Some company used to build Eldos I think with a N* in the trunk in addition to the engine in front. Only cost $80,000, which really wasn't bad to have two engines in one car.

    Damn, who were they?

^I thought there was a one off like that.

Since the northstar sits sideways just fine up front, be intresting to have it in the rear like that...hmmm

I don't care if this is a real car, photoshop, or just a damn good artist, this thing rules. It's always great to see the imagination run this is prime example. Gawd this thing is beautiful, even if it is ugly.
