    Thoughts on G-Tech Pro

So I ran the DTS with the G-Tech Pro today. I found out while setting it up that the car won't allow you to tach over 4k in park. I found that interesting.

Anyway I was wondering what people thought of these things and how accurate they are.

    Anyone?

OK I'll give up the goods. Since there was an issue marking the 4k point we marked 3k and 2k.

I ran the car and the G-Tech reported

    246 HP
    14.73 QT
Tourque was not measured for some reason.

The unit was not mine so I don't know what other info was availabe. I was driving and didn't know what other info to ask for. I'm sure the run was saved if anyone cares.

All the n*s are rev limited at 4k. You can calibrate the G-Tech while moving, you dont need to do it in park. It says that in the manual. Just put your car in 1st gear so you can hold the RPM's at 4K for the calibration.

Ahh ok. Well this was my daughters boyfriends G-Tech so I didn't get to read the manual. I guess he didn't bother.

    Do those numbers seem squewed?

yea they do G-Techs are only as good as the calibration.
My 97 ETC which weighs alot less has a full cat back custom exhaust and im one hell of a driver has only pulled 14.5 at my LOWEST time usually im around 14.7-14.9

in english 14.7 for a stock DTS possible but without corsa and a few other mods, its unlikly same with the HP rating of 246, again unless you have a corsa exhaust

No mods yet. I do have a few tricks up my sleeve and some mods planned. Corsa being one of them. I also am a well trained drag driver. I used to clock such low reactions times I had people begging me to drive their cars. I wish I could find an old time slip laying around.

I don't trust G Tech type accelerometers. I'll take a timeslip's word for it, but not that little box. That said, they're usually within a few tenths.

I like the Escort G-Timers much better. I have tried both the G-Tech and the G-Timer and the G-Timer has been more consistent and accurate.
