I recently bought an intake manifold, injectors, fuel rail, throttle body w/spacer. ais and tps that was a low mileage take off. The donor car was a 96 Northstar. Does anyone know what parts will be compatible with my 98 Northstar. The only parts which have numbers I can make out are the fuel rail and TB spacer. Those part numbers match up. One other question, Cadillac has recalled the 95-97 fuel rails, but I haven't heard of a recall for the 98's even though, as I mentioned they appear to have the same part number. Any info appreciated.
The 98 doesn't have the nylon fuel lines prone to cracking, they are a hard black plastic material. There is no recall out 98.
I'm just curious why you would put a 96 fuel rail which does fal into the recall category, on a 98 which does not. Is the fuel rail off the 96 the updated version? If not, it just seems kind of stupid to put a recalled fuel rail on a car that doesn' require the update.
Danbuc - I haven't installed anything yet. The point was that the 96 fuel rail looks identical and has the same AC-Rochester printing and part number on it that my 98 has and, before you ask, the 98 fuel rail has never been tampered with or altered in any way. It is just starting to seep by the exposed metal piece where the part number is labeled. I will probably get a stainless steel one if it look like GM will not pony up and replace mine like they did on the 95-97. Thanks to all who responded to the posting.

Re: 96-98 Intake parts
GM will not pay to replace one on a '98. Seems I have once heard that buying one will set you back $250, but don't quote me on that. Check the bone yards. You should be able to find a SS rail somewhere.
