Need to pull out the rear exhaust manifold to replace a broken bolt, any simple tricks to take it out without removing the engine? Probably anyways need to tilt the engine towards front or rear?
Car up on 4-point hoist. Lock the steering wheel/shaft straight ahead, remove the steering rack, intermediate steering shaft and heat shields. Disconnect the O2 sensor pigtail. Remove the VSS heat shield. Disconnect the strut control sensor links from the lower suspension arms. Support the engine and remove the left and right transaxle support bolts. Remove the 4 rearward cradle bolts. Lower the engine about 1.75" for hand clearance, watching for interference in the upper firewall area.
It's NOT easy - it's a miserable bitch of a job. In a shop with all the tools and jigs the labor rate is 3 hours. No way, DIY.
Thanks, I have read the procedure to remove the exhaust manifold from the FSM but I was secretly hoping for some magical way to do it easier way...
