Brand New 1993-1994 Northstar Engine - Oil Leak Modified or Not

I own a brand new OEM Northstar 295 hps 1993-1994
    Engine.

How can I see, preferable from the outside if the
infamous Northstar Oil Leak Problem has been
    modified from the GM Factory?

And if so when were these oil leaks modified at
    factory and how?

As far as I know when Engines were taken out by
warranty they were sealed by silicone sealant but
what has the factory don with the newer year
Engines and the spare parts brand new Engines
    and when.

My 100,000 miles engine's bottom part was good
when the Engine was out so it was partially rebuilt-
and I still have the Engine as a spare.

Re: Brand New 1993-1994 Northstar Engine - Oil Leak Modified or Not

Sounds like his original engine was rebuilt, he has a 93/94 GM crate Northstar and wants to know if the crate engine was assembled to later (oil seal) specs.

.......... and which "oil seals" ? Cam covers, crank end seals, halfcase, internal oil manifold, oil pan ?

My guess is that a 1993 "new" engine has been sitting around somewhere for 20 years and has never been touched - very, very doubtful if GM would assemble a "new" obsolete engine after the model year production run was over. Too many mechanical/electrical changes in 96, 98, 2000, 2004.

Re: Brand New 1993-1994 Northstar Engine - Oil Leak Modified or Not

It is a brand new GM Engine that I have as a spare.
How till I see if the crankase/halfcase oil leak (upper oil
    manifold to block) is modified?

How did GM do with the newer Engines?

When resealing under warranty I suppose GM did this with
silicone sealant which should be possible to see from outside
    on the engine
