    EGR Trouble HELP???

I'm trying to replace the EGR in my 95 Eldo. The fuel rail has a bracket looking object that loops under one of the EGR nut-bolts. How do I get the EGR off with this in my way, the fuel line seems stationary so its cant lift over the bolt. Don't make fun of me , just HELP. Thanx

    Re: EGR Trouble HELP???

If your fuel rail is original (nylon) then there is enough flex in it to move it slightly. If it has been replaced under the recall with the stainless steel rail, then the entire rail needs to be removed. I think that is what you are asking.

    Re: EGR Trouble HELP???

You have to take the nut off and remove the bracket then remove the bolt that holds the EGR valve down. The bolt that holds the EGR is a stud headed bolt that has a nut on it to hold the bracket. That bracket is actually a shield to keep the fuel lines away from the EGR in the event the items might get crushed together somehow so you really want to reinstall it even though it is a bit of a pain.
