    Very odd smell ???

    Hello All

    I have a 93 Brougham w/5.7L

Smokes from under the hood, like it is overheating. But the smell is like the engine caught fire and was put out, and I hear boiling???. I noticed on the right hand front corner of the intake manifold where it touches the head, the gasket looks wet, but I don't see anything leaking??? But that smell of fire has me puzzled... I never smelt anything like that with out a visible fire.

I'm hoping it's not a worped head. could it just be a replacement of the intake manifold gasket???

    All help would be greatful.

    Thanks

    AL

The first thing I would do is clean the engine. Either do it youself with Gunk or have a trusted shop do it. The problem should go away temporarily. Then keep a sharp eye on the engine and see where it is leaking. Most likely the smell and smoke is oil getting on the exhaust system. It smells bad, I know.
