Talking 99 Deville Concours with cracked block!

Purchased this caddy from a salvage yard after it was diagnosed with head gasket failure. Wound up being the block cracked from water freezing when it was improperly filled. Only paid 650 bucks and it only has 85000 miles on it. Nice really cheap caddy. Had block welded, surfaced and used norms nsl 300 inserts Norm is Da Man!

How many miles have you put on it since the cast aluminum block was welded? Pictures?

I am new to this site so I hope I am getting this out. Had the block welded and the only warping was by cyl 4 and 6. Had block surfaced just enough to get flat. Did the other side because I didnt want any computer/fuel issues. Engine is really fast now and doing well. Have about 25000k on it and did great untill Trans went blotto. Pictures to come when I remove cradle assy again. Been 3 times now on my own caddy. Have done 25+ for others using Norm Huhn's inserts. Place that welded it said to use as little heat as possible. By the way, I do these in my yard with no lift. Just Jack up whole car and hold up with 2ft x 2ft wood ties and lower cradle with floor jacks. My 99 Jimmy drags it out and back under when I am done.
