    PCM and engine switching

I am curious to know if the pcm must be reprogrammed(taken to the dealer)or is it just the same procedure as if it had lost battery power.

    Re: PCM and engine switching

For what? Engine replacement? Then no, it does not require PCM reprogramming.

He has a couple or more threads running on the same engine replacement - hard to keep track.

Same car, same type/year engine, same PCM: put it all back together, do your pre-startup checks and drive it.

    Re: PCM and engine switching

Normally I keep my posts together but this time it was a little different. I just wanted to make sure if it had to be reprogrammed or anything. Just don't want anything to get damaged.

    Re: PCM and engine switching

Yeah, it won't require any adjustments. Erased settings and different values will be automatically learned by PCM while you are driving, given that you put a correct VIN matching engine.
