11 - 14 Ohms, and all injectors must be within a 3 Ohm window.

Thanks sub, also is testing them with an Ohm meter the best way to find which injector is open or shorted? I got a P119 code ( open or shorted injector) I thought about turning the key to the on position and watching how they spray but this year car does not let you lift the fuel rail up too far without disconnecting some junk.. And I really cant see to much in there with the amount of movement this rail has..

Why not just listen to each one with a stethoscope? If it's working you'll hear a rhythmic ticking as it pulses.

I would Ranger but I cant listen to the injectors on this year Northstar with the car running because the metal cover on this intake is functional and without it the car probably would not run.. I think it would be such a major vacuum leak that the car probably would not even start..

Right you are, well almost. The engine WOULD run at WOT! I was looking at the year in your profile, instead of the title when I said that. I apologize. Glad you didn't try it.

I tested the injectors...They are all about 13 or 14 ohms...I swapped out the pcm and cleaned up the connections on the injectors and still getting the P119 code..Is it possible for these injectors to test good resistance wise but have some other problem..Does anybody know of another test i can do on these things..This is starting to peeve me...

What kind of a problem are you trying to nail down?

Re: Fuel Injector resistance 1994 Northstar motor

Recurring P119 code..Raw gas smell at the tailpipe with what smells and looks like gas dripping from the tailpipes.. Engine miss and heavy blueish gray smoke out the tailpipes..Im assuming the heavy smoke is from too much fuel..But I thought that a rich mixture produces black smoke..I dont know .. So far I have changed the Fuel filter, swapped out the Pcm, Ohm tested the injectors and cleaned the connectors on the injectors and wire harness..Also I noticed that under it seems like everthing under that metal cover is wet for some reason...I thought it was maybe the regulator leaking..I turned the key on and did not see any fuel coming from the nipple...So I am lost on this one..Any help would be very appreciated...

Re: Fuel Injector resistance 1994 Northstar motor

On several rare occasions, I've run into vehicles where the injectors would ohm out just fine cold, but the short would present itself after they got up to temp. I recommend you find a way to test those injectors after the engine's been running for a short time. Is there a seperate injector harness that's easy to get to on these? It's much easier to check resistance at the connector rather than each individual injector...

Unfortunately this year Northstar is not very forgiving to work on...I have a 2000 Deville thats much simpler to get to the injectors...This 94 has the injectors tucked away pretty good.. Im gonna see if maybe i can swap out these injectors with some good ones and try that... Thanks for your input..

An excessively rich mixture and produce unburnt fuel vapor that would look like smoke or steam. If you have gas dripping from the pipes it IS excessively rich.
