How to ID N* engine
Today I picked up two N*s from the local Caddy dealer for use in my Fieros.
Both engines ran good when removed, but did run hot. The dealer said both engines will need head gaskets and Timeserts.
I know one engine is a complete 97 as I just sold him the replacement.
He said as far as he recalls, the second engine is a 2002 with the large cams. It is minus the intake and exhaust.
How can I ID the second engine either through external items or casting numbers? Also, what should the cam lobes measure with a micrometer if it is a large or small?
